The 6th World Homeshare Congress is taking place in Brussels in 2019. It’s scheduled to take place from 21 to 22 March 2019, and will be hosted by Belgian homeshare organization 1Toit2Ages (“one roof, two ages”) and Homeshare International. The Congress website is live now, and you can register to attend here.
5th World Homeshare Congress
The 5th World Homeshare Congress took place in Madrid, Spain on 25 to 26 May 2017, at Madrid’s City Hall, the Palacio Cibeles. It was attended by over 140 delegates from 11 countries, making it the biggest Congress yet. The congress theme was “Expanding Homeshare, Building Bridges”. It was bilingual, with real-time simultaneous translation from Spanish to English and vice versa. There is plenty of information about the Congress — including photos, copies of presentations, and the congress program — at Homeshare International.
4th World Homeshare Congress
More than 100 delegates from Belgium, France, Germany, Japan, Spain, the UK, USA and Australia gathered in Melbourne between 5-6 November 2015 to examine the role ‘homeshare’ programs can play in tackling some of the intergenerational challenges of ageing populations, housing affordability and social and disability services.
The theme of the World Congress was ‘Homeshare ticks the boxes’.
The two-day Congress featured policy makers, leading demographers, social commentators and Homeshare practitioners and participants. As part of his official opening address the Hon. Martin Foley MP, Victorian Minister for Housing, Disability and Ageing announced that Victoria would trial the Homeshare model in public housing in 2016.
The Congress in the Media
We were delighted to secure a number of prominent media opportunities for the World Congress:
Prior to the 4th World Homeshare Congress, HANZA distributed to its members and supporters Congress Previews updating them with information on event preparations and how to contribute.
