The end of 2018 was busy for both HANZA and our new project Home Share Melbourne, and the start of 2019 hasn’t let up! Home Share Melbourne recently sent out an update to its supporters and those who’ve registered an interest in the project — if you’d like to sign up for their newsletter, you can do so here — and we’re sharing it here to keep everyone up to date.

Sadly, we didn’t receive any funding from Pick My Project, but we have received very welcome support from several new partners, including Pay a Sack Forward, StreetSmart and The Honda Foundation. We’ve also formed a partnership with Flatmates.com.au, who’ve chosen Home Share Melbourne as one of their registered charities to be supported through their Good to Give matched payroll program. And most importantly, we’ve made our first match, thanks to Pay a Sack Forward; they are sponsoring the young Homesharer from India, who came to us via an asylum seeker support hub.

BUT! We still need more assistance! We’d love our loyal HANZA friends to get the word out about the program, and to encourage anyone with room to spare in the City of Port Philip — the target area for the pilot project — to contact us. Most of all, though, we need funds, so if you’re looking for a good cause to support in 2019, please consider donating to HANZA or sponsoring a Homesharer via Home Share Melbourne.
