We are experienced professionals in the areas of social work, nursing, physiotherapy, and the public service. Three of our former and present Committee members – Carmel Hurst, Beris Campbell and Annette Madden – have been awarded honours in recognition of their groundbreaking work in establishing Homeshare programs in Australia.
2018 saw several changes in the HANZA Committee. Our long-serving secretary, Carmel Hurst, announced her retirement at this year’s Annual General Meeting after 21 years of service. It was Carmel who first brought the concept of Homeshare to Australia, and she has been devoted and active member of HANZA Inc throughout its lifetime. She has promised to stay involved with HANZA and to continue to spread the word about Homeshare! We will miss her greatly, and wish her well.
Denise Keighery also resigned from the Committee due to increased family commitments. We are sorry to lose her, and will miss her also, especially her work with Carmel on the Promotions subcommittee.
We also welcomed several new Committee members: Heather McKee OAM, Dr Meg Montague and Nancy Norton have all joined after standing for election at the AGM. Heather has worked with Beris Campbell over many years on multiple projects and programs in the Port Phillip area. Meg has been a Homeshare champion for many years, has facilitated all our recent planning sessions, and was the principal author of the Homeshare Planning and Operational Manual. Nancy brings her years of experience in community care and excellent management skills to HANZA. We are delighted to add such talented people to our Committee.
Individual bios, along with information about each Committee member, are available below.
